My career as a professional photographer began over 25 years ago.
I began working at the Senate Photo Studio in 1988 as a lab technician and was promoted to the position of photographer within a year. I retired from the Senate in 2004 and continue to operate my Studio in Smithsburg, Maryland. Responsibilities of a Senate Photographer included capturing historical events such as the impeachment of a sitting U.S. President and photographing official portraits of U.S. Senators and took photographs with them and their visitors from the home states. We captured the history of daily life at the U.S. Capitol. I also photographed special events such as; Presidential Inaugurations, Swearing in Ceremonies of newly elected Senators, Promotional Ceremonies for Military Men and Women, press conferences, and other media events were also a part of my duties as a photographer. Since retirement from the government continue to work as a photographer in my studio in Smithsburg, Maryland. I am a member of the Nature Printing Society . www.natureprintingsociety.org/ and taught a class in Printing "Nature in Water and Color. I have written and illustrated a children’s books, “Pitter, Patter Goes the Rain” and children's books written by various individuals. Currently serving on the Workshop Committee for Waynesboro Studio Art Club in Waynesboro, Pa. http://workshopswsac.com I have served as President and Gallery Director of The Valley Art Association, a group of local artists from Maryland, Pennsylvania for over 14 years. Currently my artwork is on display at the Mansion House Art Gallery in City Park, Hagerstown. Md. I have also studied watercolor in Dedham, England with Professional Watercolor Artist Steve Hill.
